Operational simplicity improves reliability

Two independent scans beat a tightly registered pair: more coverage, no registration on failures.

Forest structure matters more than project size

Dynamic plot area removes boundary disputes and works with what the scanner can actually see.

Coppice remains the hardest problem

Multi-stem stands still get manual review. Automated multi-stem segmentation is targeted for fall 2026.

Automation only counts when it improves quality

We automate where it demonstrably improves efficiency and confidence, and keep humans where judgment matters.
